Marlyse Martinez is a sought after performer and teacher of Southern California. She received her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance at the Eastman School of Music, in which she studied with renowned violinist, Mikhail Kopelman. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Violin Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach under the tutelage of Andrea Byers, a Juilliard alumnus and student of Ivan Galamian, as well as Dorothy DeLay. Ms. Martinez has studied under the greats such as Martin Chalifour, Concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Jerry Epstein of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She has also participated in the prestigious Aspen Music Festival with conductors David Robertson, and David Zinman.

 

Ms. Martinez is an active orchestral musician, currently performing

with the San Diego Symphony as a regular substitute. Marlyse has also participated in the Grand Teton Music Festival. She has previously worked with the American Youth Symphony, where she served as Assistant Principal, as well as Tokyo New City Orchestra, YMF Debut Orchestra, Center Stage Opera, Southeast Symphony, Corona Symphony and the Long Beach Ballet. Ms. Martinez has performed under the baton of Jahja Ling, Pinchas Zukerman, and Keith Lockhart. Marlyse has also recorded, and performed with legendary artist, Burt Bacharach, whom she toured with in Japan and Europe. She has appeared with Il Volo, Il Divo, as well as television performances which include American Idol and the BET Awards.

 

Marlyse is the violin coach and teacher at Aliso Niguel High School for the String Orchestra program, consisting of over 200 string students. Ms. Martinez offers private lessons in San Diego and Orange County.
